Numra. set of baskets
A series of baskets in clay and woven raffia emerges from the encounter between material and tradition, exploring basketry techniques and the archetypal forms of Senegalese canaris.
The project begins with the canari as its point of departure, reinterpreting its volume and presence, and then evolves through different functions: from a water carafe to an incense holder. These intimate, everyday uses shape both the morphology of the objects and the weaving method, creating a dialogue between solidity and permeability, between containment and diffusion.
